FAQ'S |
WORKING FOR VERVIA |
|
| |
Q: How does Vervia work?
| |
• We select a domestic worker for you from our database of self employed workers
• Your membership fee covers the recruitment, interviewing, selection and appointment of workers and gives you access to a replacement cleaner upon demand.
• The worker will then become your regular worker and use your products and equipment and you pay them direct when they visit
• The agency fee is payable monthly. |
Q: How are the workers vetted?
| |
• Every worker comes with references from former employers, which we check. We also accumulate additional references from their existing Vervia clients once they have been with us a while.
• We check proof of identity by copying a passport, or a new style driving licence
• We also require proof of address, such as a gas bill or telephone bill, so we know they do live at the address they give us. |
Q: How soon can I have a domestic worker start?
| |
• If you require a domestic worker, call us and we’ll visit you by appointment to register with us.
• Allow 48 hours to book the appointment with us, after which it takes 1 - 5 days for a cleaner to be allocated to you. |
Q: Will the worker do any ironing?
| |
• Yes. All our workers are flexible in their approach and will carry out any reasonable domestic duties including ironing. Just let us know at our initial meeting and we can be sure of allocating you a worker who is proficient.
|
Q: What happens if the cleaner is ill or I go on holiday?
| |
• If your worker is sick or on holiday, we will provide you with an alternative cleaner if you wish.
• If you go on holiday, you can cancel your cleaner or ask them to work to do those ‘extra’ things that they do not have time to do on their usual visit. Your standing order payment allows for 4 missed cleans per annum which you are not charged for. |
Q: What do I do if the workers performance is unsatisfactory?
| |
• Tell us and we will allocate a replacement.
• Please allow five working days for a replacement to be put forward. |
Q: Is there insurance cover for damage done by the worker?
| |
• We cover for major damage over £100
• You are responsible for the first £100 of any claim.
• There are particular exclusions to the damage policy and you will be given a full written sheet on insurance cover. |
Q: What do I do if I want to cancel the service?
| |
•If you wish to cancel your contract with us you can do so at any time. You must cancel your standing order mandate direct with your own bank at the same time. |
Q: Can I recruit my worker privately?
| |
•Yes. If you find a worker which you like and grow to trust you can ask them if they want to work privately for you. Normally they will require a higher hourly rate. Vervia will charge you 3 months fees as an introduction fee. |
Q: What do I have to tell my new worker?
| |
•We strongly recommend that you spend 15 -20 minutes with your worker in the first visit to tell them how you want your house cleaned and which of your products to use where. Every client has different preferences and it is only fair that your worker should understand yours from the beginning. |
